Time is Eternal.

So you believe Revelation 10:6 says time will end?

Sure, whatever. Even if that's the opposite of what you said you "knew" I believed last time, if you're saying something different now, then I must have changed my mind.

Sure, whatever. I won't give you the benefit of the doubt anymore #1

It isn't valid to compare time and love.  The Scriptures tell us clearly that "God is love", but make no such statement about time.

Bingo!  Even love is outside of time. In eternity past God loved us.

He has loved us with an everlasting love. This is consistent with seeing time as being Eternal. Again, far too many presuppositions.

Yes. Time is from the very nature of God. Just like Love comes from the very nature of God. Would you argue that God has authority over love? I know a Calvinist like yourself would never believe the contrary.

You have basically made the argument that Time can't be a attribute of God because such an attribute can not be constrained. If I misunderstood your argument then please correct me.

Explain how God constraining Himself would equal denying God's nature?

I know everyone was so happy to see such an argument but it really was a rather poor rebuttal.

You did make a observation that is so very true. However, you didn't apply it correctly.

uses time as a tool to accomplish His purposes.

God's purposes are Eternal. Nothing can be added to them or taken from them. Time and God's purposes go "hand in hand". They come from His very character and are part of His very being. They are not created. They are Eternal.

About time that you got back with me! LOL!.... see what I did there?

When time is discussed in Scripture, we have God using it to set parameters for  His creation. Hence, we have this passage: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority." (Ac 1:7)

You call my use of Scripture, establishing the fact that God sets times as a poor rebuttal, yet you have no ability to defeat the premise. The infinite nature of God is being compromised.

Your approach is common among philosophers who want to equate God with time (as well as space). The Creator/creature distinction gets sidetracked. God's self-existence gets trampled by philosophers who want to make time an attribute of God. God's infinite nature cannot be constrained by our notions of time.

I do grow so very tired of your ignoring my comments to focus on your own. I keep hoping you'll stop doing this but I don't think its going to happen.

Its amazing to me that you ignore the philosophy you use in your own theology and bash me for doing the same. I imagine only a Calvinist gets to use philosophy..... Typical

Yes. Your response was entirely lacking. T-Bones thread made me remember the formal debate you had with that NUT rsca. You spent so much time dealing in your little world, you didn't even deal with an orthodox view of original sin. Talk about missing the forest for the trees.... I wish you stop and realize just how your living in your own little world.

You don't have one single verse that says time ends. Not one. You don't even have a verse that says time was created. I shared multiple verses in the thread and in our PMs. You started dealing with "Alpha and Omega" and you realized you couldn't win that argument.. now you've moved on to a Acts 1:7?

I have already said that time is integral to God purposes. Even heaven has sequence. Even things Eternal have a ever flowing stream of Time. They happen right on TIME...... This couldn't happen if "Time ends". Geesh!!!

If you can't handle this part of the discussion, then how about dealing with my OP?

I gave you Acts because it clearly speaks of time as a tool God uses. You have yet to debate that.

If created time ends, and it certainly will, that has no bearing on eternity.

The problem is not our lack of Scripture on the matter, the problem is that you will not allow Scripture to inform you on the matter of time.

You suppose that the merism  "beginning and end" somehow suggests that eternity has a time element. You take a figure of speech and press it beyond its intended meaning.

I challenged your misuse of the phrase "beginning and end" in the context of the same verse. If you take that phrase to mean that God is Time, then you must also believe that God is the Greek Alphabet. You avoided that and persisted in the absurdity.

You cannot use part of a verse and ignore the rest (or at least should not):

6 He said to me: ?It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.

Eternal sequence, Eternal order. A characteristic of God Himself.

Nope. I just can't live here 24/7

As I understand sequences, they are a series of steps. The alphabet is a sequence of letters. It starts with A and ends with Z. Not only a beginning but also an end.

Or if you bake something, build something, design something there is a sequence of steps generally known as the process. These too have defined first and last steps.

An eternal sequence without beginning or end would be ....

Sure, sequence involves steps. An Eternal sequence without beginning or end would be.... well. God.

Jesus said very clearly that He IS.... Alpha and Omega. Beginning and End. This is a merism using terms that reflect a whole without end. Which is exact what Eternity is. An whole, without end.

Simple question. Does God's purpose end?

You are the one that said that beginning and end equals proof of time. You're the one that said this. That the phrase "beginning and end" indicates time. Do you withdraw this assertion?

If it IS an indication of time. Then it certainly is indication of time being a characteristic of God.

Its really ABSURD that you make an argument that I must believe that God is literally the Greek Alphabet? Total nonsense. Alpha and Omega is used in the same manner as... beginning and end is used in the Scripture. It is a reference to indicate a whole. God is both A to Z. Beginning and End and everything in-between. Literally being the "Greek Alphabet" is a weasels charge. You sound like the Wolf last night when he continually tried to claim that Cruz wanted to destroy thousand of innocent Arabs because he wanted to destroy the capital of ISIS in Syria.

No. I am not claiming that God is the Greek Alphabet. Such a comparison is total nonsense.

The problem is not our lack of Scripture on the matter,

If you don't know. They say you don't know. You say there isn't enough Scripture on the matter and then proceed to have an opinion. Which is it??? You can't have BOTH.

You first claimed that morning and evening indicate the creation of time, when that fell apart for you..... you then say there isn't enough information. You're everywhere on this.
