A co-worker lived for five years in the Middle East, is devoutly Christian and had scores of Muslim friends and acquaintances.

Where at in the Middle East?  Not all Middle Eastern Muslims are created equal, as I'm sure you know.  IPs point was sufficiently clear for any honest reader.  You won't live long in *some* Muslim countries as a "devout Christian".

What IP did was shift gears when I called his statements concerning the Pope et al whacking those who cross him. Muslims were not part of the initial discussions. the fact remains that one can trod Catholic Europe as a believer and nobody gives a rip.

So you convemiently ignored the reports of the Catholic Church (headed by the Pope) is persecuting and displacing Evangelicals in South America? I posted links, but then you drivelled on like I hadnt respoded. Pay attention Bob. Your missing stuff.

What about his missing stuff?  Did you steal it?  Is that where it went?

So you've conveniently ignored the multitude of war crimes by the Lord's Resistance Army1 (headed by a group claiming to be lead by the Holy Spirit whose motivation is to create a Christian theocracy) including the murder of Muslims, women, children, and political opponents? I posted links, but then you driveled on...

...but I forgot that those atrocities don't count because junk and stuff.

1 And, no, my presumption is not that Kony is a Christian, but that doesn't change the fact that he's waving that banner pretty high. It's almost like all those Muslim folks denoucing the actions of radical Islamic extremists, but you'll ignore the disgusting actions committed by the LRA because it doesn't fit your narrative about how persecuted you are.

Back to Paisley, I worked in Belfast for almost a year. He was always stirring up/causing trouble.  That and his close relationship to BJ, heretical KJVO teachings is enough for me. Not too upset by his assuming room temperature.

I didn't read your links.

But, as to Paisley, Protestants could not trod Northern Ireland in the past without fear of an IRA terrorist attack.

How did I find out Paisley died?  The Billy Graham Evangelist Association is a client of mine. I had to go to their website today and on the front page was a picture of Paisley and a comment from Franklin Graham:

Ian Paisley, Northern Ireland’s former first minister and former Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) leader died September 12 in Belfast at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife Eileen, his five children and grandchildren. Ian Paisley was a powerful politician and a towering figure in the Northern Irish peace process, following decades of conflict.

But most important, he was a preacher of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. While I was preaching in Belfast, Ireland in 2008 he invited me to his office. He was a man of deep conviction and great boldness. His leadership will be greatly missed.

I'm sorry but this just amuses me on so many fronts. Paisley was a hero to so many hard-core fundies, especially in the Bob Jones sphere of fundamentalists as much for his separation as anything else and he often preached against Billy Graham. And yet the old guy must have gone liberal!

It's also amusing because true to form, the Graham's have always been classy and gracious to those who have been hateful to them.

But I don't say I can agree with everything Franklin wrote.

Franklin Graham isn't an FFF Freebird...he practices intellectual honesty!

But he and his father are hated by IFBxers because BJ told them too.  8)

Well, I see that good-ol-American-Christian Narcissism has once gain risen it's ugly head here-- "If I didn't see it it didn't happen... If it didn't happen to me it didn't happen..  If my net didn't catch it it ain't fish...I don't need your stinking facts..."
I don't recall the pope lopping off any heads recently. Sorry, but that's a really stupid comparison and has nothing to do with St. Ian.

ChuckBob

Some history would do some good.  Just because a caged lion hasn't killed a man recently doesn't mean he's not a killer.

John Paul killed a man? Francis?

John Paul may have popped one or two. he was in the Polish resistance during WWII.

The point is that the Catholic church hasn't executed any body in several hundred years. Following the caged lion logic one also must be wary of the sainted Puritans. They're only ones that ever executed anybody in North America.

Talk to some missionaries in RCC-dominant countries.  Or, better year, take a year Sabbatical from whatever you do and go serve as a missionary in Italy.

You'll come come singing a different tune...

We know a family working towards going to Italy as missionaries. Are you saying that their lives will be in danger at the hands of the Catholic church?
I dunno.  Notice I said (or meant to say) "You'll come home singing a different tune.

If they have a successful ministry, say, like a missionary we've supported, there is a possibility that the local RCs will send over the local mob goons to break their legs, as they did his...

Yours. The pope had his friend's legs broken. And for those who haven't had their legs broken? Well, he don't need those stinkin" facts!
