An Oregon man has filed a lawsuit seeking more than $750,000, claiming his employer fired him for refusing to attend weekly Christian Bible studies.

The plaintiiff, Ryan Coleman, 34, a convicted felon and half-Native American, said the Albany, Ore.-based construction company, Dahled Up Construction, did not require its workers to attend weekly Bible studies until a month after he was hired as a painter, the Oregonian reported this week.

Joel Dahl, the company’s owner and founder, insisted his employees attend the studies as a condition of continuing employment, the lawsuit claims.

“The pope knows we have a bigger agenda,” Cupich said in an interview with WGN-TV. “We have to speak about the environment, about the poor, we have to reach out to people who are marginalized in society. We cannot be distracted at this moment.”

Hmmmm, who could be more marginalized than those who have been abused by those of your very organization? But yet the accusations of abuse are just a "distraction"? You definitely need to join your father, the devil, in the pits of hell.

Brett Kavanaugh eh?

Quote
Kavanaugh will provide thin gruel for Democratic opponents.  He has impeccable credentials: he graduated from Yale College and Law School (where one of us overlapped with him as a student), clerked for two appeals judges, and then the U.S. Supreme Court for the departing Justice Anthony Kennedy.

<snip>

Even though Democrats will go to any lengths to stop Kavanaugh, he presents them with few vulnerabilities.

He has written no opinions on their holy-of-holies, abortion or gay marriage. To the extent that he has written on these topics, he has observed that the government might have a compelling interest in providing contraceptives and that an alien might have a due process right to an abortion.

He has written no major opinions on free speech or religion, nor has he displayed any sympathies for the criminal defense bar.

Oh, I'm sure if the Dems can find (or just flat out make up the charge) that he cheated on a math test in the 5th grade, they will try to use that against him. At one point, former First Lady Michelle Obama said, "when they go low, we go high." I have a feeling that we're going to witness the Dems going very low during this whole process.

I really thought Trump would go with Amy Coney Barrett. It would have been interesting to see how the rabid feminists went after a female nominee who just happens to be conservative.

The Fighting Forum / Liberals, such a classy bunch.....NOT!!

Way to stay classy Maxine.....

A far-left California congresswoman is calling on Americans to rise up and harass members of the Trump Administration.

“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” Rep. Maxine Waters told a crowd of supporters over the weekend.

“If you think we are rallying now you ain’t seen nothing yet,” she said.

And it’s only a matter of time before the Democrats unleash their violent minions on Trump supporters. It’s only a matter of time. But for now — they are targeting the president’s staff.

“The people are going to turn on them. They are going to protest. They are going absolutely harass them until they decide that they are going to tell the president – no I can’t hang with you,” Waters said on MSNBC.

That woman is nuttier than a fruit cake. So, when a triggered liberal snowflake attacks and injures a member of the Trump admin, or just a Trump supporter in general, we get to blame Maxine for inciting the violence, right?

Stephanie Wilkinson, the owner who kicked Sarah Sanders and her party out of the Red Hen restaurant, feels that "this feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals,” she said.

She went on to say, "We just [feel] there are moments in time when people need to live their convictions. This appeared to be one."

So, I wonder if there were Christian bakers in her town refusing to bake same sex wedding cakes, upholding their morals and living their convictions (just like she's doing), would Stephanie Wilkinson stand with the bakers or condemn them as being bigots? My money would be on the latter.

Give them what they want and they still whine.....

Democrats expressed concerns Wednesday about President Trump's executive order, which will allow parents who have crossed the U.S. border illegally to remain with their children. The move, some Democrats argued, simply detains illegal immigrants "indefinitely."

The order Trump signed allows children to stay in detention with their parents for an extended period of time. It does not, however, end the "zero-tolerance" policy that criminally prosecutes adults entering the country without proper documentation.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., tweeted Wednesday night that the executive order "merely replaces one inhumane act with another."

"In response to the overwhelming public outrage at his policy of tearing children away from their parents at the border, this administration thinks the appropriate response is to indefinitely detain families," Sanders said.

Other Libs tweeted out as well.

So, we're going to stop "ripping" the children from their parent's arms, but that still isn't good enough for the liberals. What do the Libs want? Oh yeah, that's right, they want illegals to have free reign to our country and its services.

The Fighting Forum / Hey buddy, can you spare $54 million?

What is it with televangelists and multi-million dollar jets.....?

Quote
A Louisiana-based televangelist is asking his followers to donate money for a $54 million jet that can “go anywhere in the world in one stop,” The Times-Picayune reported.

Jesse Duplantis, 68, a Christian minister based in Destrehan, about 25 miles east of New Orleans, says his ministry has paid cash for three private jets.

Duplantis is now reportedly seeking the funds for a Dassault Falcon 7X, worth $54 million.

The problem with the previous jets, he says, is that they require multiple stops to refuel. But flying the Falcon 7X, Duplantis says, will allow him to save money and not pay “those exorbitant prices with jet fuel all over the world.”

The Fighting Forum / Joel Osteen is "entertainment."
« on: May 20, 2018, 11:21:28 AM »
I received a flyer in the mail yesterday from SiriusXM radio (I am a past subscriber) trying to lure me back with a "6 months for just $29.95" special. In it, it listed all of the channels, broken down into different categories, that I could hear if I reactivate my dormant radio.

What I found quite telling was the fact that the Joel Osteen channel was listed in the entertainment category and not in the religion category.

His content certainly doesn't qualify as 'religious,' at least in my not so humble opinion and it isn't very 'entertaining' either, unless you just want to laugh at how absurd he can be sometimes.

The world will cease to exist on April 23 according to a prediction that has some preparing for the worst, some yawning and others laughing.

The warning about an upcoming rapture from numerologist David Meade is the latest prophecy about the arrival of the apocalypse.
